  1. Dropping off my bike with Richard on Wed. Will update results. Thanks for the great feedback gents.
  2. Agreed. Richard did my fit
  3. Didnt think of the thickness affecting the post height. Valid point. I have already set it and seems fine. Will ride it this week on the trainer and see how that goes. I guess with all the minute changes, it makes sense to visit the fitter again. After all, he did say he is happy to install the seat when i plan to get a new one. Tx
  4. Sounds like a plan. Will install the old seat and measure the length from stem to widest part and then install Spez. Yes, it has a rise in the back so will be higher. Thanks
  5. Hey. I did the sit bones measurement and they recommend 155mm. I'm looking for the steps to install it correctly. The nose is shorter on the Spez so struggling to get it right.
  6. Hi. Was recommended by my bike fitter to get a bigger saddle to address being uncomfortable and always waking up from the saddle. I recently purchased a Spez Power Saddle 155mm moving from a 143(Prologo) I installed it but just doesn't feel right. What are the tips and tricks considering I have the bike fit measurements? Last resort is to take it to him. Tx
  7. Hey. Used it 3 times and covered about 50km. It works great and very smooth. I'm using the Tacx premium software that gives you a month's subscription free. I don't notice much of a delay on the climbs. The one thing I world have loved is the freewheel on downhill. This trainer doesn't come with it, so flying downhill at 60km/h will still allow you to push the pedal making it very unrealistic. Something I can live with. Happy with my purchase. BTW - if you in Josies, check out Hotspotcycles.they have it for R9899. Best price I found. Awesome service as well. Ask for Mouritz.
  8. Hi I'm unable to pair my Garmin Fenix 5 to Tacx Flux S. The trainer is unable to find it. I tried the heartbeat broadcast as well as searching for sensors. Is the Fenix 5 compatible? I know it has Ant+
  9. Thanks. Decided on the Flux S. Getting it at R9800 and fetching tomorrow. See you on Zwift
  10. Please confirm how long you have it and roughly how many KMs. Tx
  11. Thanks. Is maintenance generally required within the warranty period?
  12. Thanks. Great reviews online as well.
  13. Thanks. Bikaddict has got the H3 for 12999. Will also wait till end of month if any BF specials.
  14. Wahoo Kickr 3 is just under 20k so out of my budget. The classifieds have plenty of Wahoo for sale thats in my budget but they are gen1 and gen2. Lots of issues on the web around grinding noise on flywheel. Seems to be bearings.
  15. Hey. I need to get more on the bike during the week so decided to get an indoor trainer. Only looking for direct drive. Budget is about 10k. Brand new around my budget is the TACX Flux S or I can spend a little more and choose between SARIS H3 or Tacx Flux 2. Can't afford the Wahoo range. Which one is more reliable? I don't race but do over 50Km rides with some decent gradients. I live in a house and will set this up in my patio so noise isn't really a concern. It's more the reliability and after sales support I'm interested. Thanks.
  16. Hi. Recently did a bike fit and the Kappa ProLogo seat is narrow. I also find it very hard. So during my rides I tend to lift my rear alot as I'm not comfortable. He recommends getting 155mm x 255mm with a lip in the back to help with posture. I ride around 50km and plan to do more but need the comfort. . Budget is around 1k.
  17. Hey. Joined their group. Most of the members are not in GP and some out of SA. Managed to find a Strava route from Cradle to Sterkfontein. Did 53km.thanks. On to the next one now
  18. Couldn't afford a new dual sus or even anything over 20k.managed to pick up a 2015 Merida dual sus with top components for 12k. A little tlc and it's now my best mate
  19. Hi. I currently ride solo around 40 km every weekend and now want to push a bit more mileage. Would love to do a 50+ on my next trip. I live in Midrand and normally ride from Vorna Valley to Beaulieu, loop around Riversands and then head back. This is my regular route but i want to mix things up a bit.Im an average rider doing about 13km on dirt. I have been to many parks so not interested in that. I'm willing to ride towards Centurion or similar if there is a route. Prefer to be off the tar mostly. Also thinking of heading to Cradle and then riding to Sterkfontein caves and back which i believe is 50? Any recommendations is appreciated. Thanks
  20. So had the 2 swopped around. The Forekaster is a great tyre. Eats up mud easily and offers plenty of grip. Miles ahead of the Ardent. Also rolls decently. Rekon race is decent for the rear but next time I would rather go with Forekaster rear as well. The grip on this tyre is superb.
  21. Thanks might consider doing this.
  22. So I went with Rekon Race on the front and Forekaster rear. Both 2.35.
  23. Its a dual sus. I'm about 79kg. Yes my riding position could be wrong that is contributing to the washing out. Just been to Dunkeld cycles and they advise I should get Ardents front and Ikons rear. Was considering 2.4 all round but might just go 2.25 to have more speed.
  24. Hi All. Read this thread and still can't make my mind up which tyres to get. Just bought my first 29 dual sus and it comes with Mavic cross road rims(I think I can go 2.4) It's tubeless ready but has not been setup before. My riding style is technical and i love single tracks. I prefer not to ride on the tar however I can't avoid that when riding in the neighborhood. I am no race snake but plan to do some events later in life. I have narrowed it down to Maxxis Ikon, Rekon and Forrester. My previous bike had Ardent race exo(2.4)which I used to get a lot of punctures and was washing out in the front. Also looking at Schwalbes racing Ralph's and Nobby nics. It's selling for R700 at Sportsmans Warehouse but I think it's the non exo ones, not sure. Tyres are bloody expensive so want to make the right decision. Please help. Tx
  25. Hi ChuCke3. Thanks so much for your reply. I definitely don't ride as much as u but want to do Sani2C in the near future at least. How did the Manitou fork behave? My hard tail had the Rockshox Gold TK. Will def consider upgrading the rims.
