  1. Ill keep an eye out on here. The RS seems to be the way to go. What's the feeling about the Fox shocks?
  2. This is very much pogostick like. The fork does not need to be new, but if you are saying that a cheap entry level airfork wont be much better than the springer I have on now and im really wasting my time, then I need to forget about the idea and just carry on as is for now.
  3. Would the Rockshock be something that a lot of guys would upgrade from too?
  4. I bought a Gt Timberline a few months ago with the goal to see if the MTB bug can bite me again. I live on a farm so I have a lot of access to private roads with monster climbs and I really enjoy my early morning sessions. So far I've upgraded the tires and went Tubeless. It's seen a service and a rear hub bearing replacement too, all in the short span of about 200km. I do about 10-20km a day depending on my route and I'm really enjoying it. I don't think I'd get much back for the old GT, so I figured Id ride it another 500-1000km before I look at upgrading to a DS bike (though I really like Hardtails) The front fork is horrible! I run my tires on the flat side and have a bounce when powering uphill as the shock compresses. Any suggestions on a slightly better fork that can be found second hand, instead of buying new and costing nearly as much as the bike?
  5. Thanks for the advise. The current pads are brand new. Ive done about 50km on them (open road riding with very little braking) Ill get some sandpaper to clean the rotors Are resin pads known to make a lot of noise? They were cheapie Shimano M485 pads (R100 or so)
  6. I killed my pads in the mud the otherday and I've replaced them with shimano resin pads. I had to rebleed the system completely and the pressure feels good. Ive done about 50 km of road riding using the brakes every now and then, but when I do, they scream like a sonnavabitch. Its so loud, im almost ashamed to stop for anything, except cars and trucks ofcorse. The bikes stopping perforance is rather poor too. It stops... well sort of Do I just need to ride them until they stop making a noise?
  7. Thank you. I appreciate the write-up I just need to find me some forks now! The Dart2's are really taking a pounding!
  8. Just came back from a quick 30 min cycle in the mountain. These tires work very well in mud and wet sand. I didn't once have a o fk moment. But on tar they are horrible... guess ill be lugging the bike on the back of the forester wherever I go ride
  9. Lol, good point. Let me see if I can find a review...
  10. Back from the Dead. How easy would this be to swop over, would I be able to do it myself? Anybody want to sell one ?
  11. Yeah, read now that they have been discontinued. 129, how bad could they be. The karma's were 299 ea. So how bad are the Koyotes?
  12. I popped into cycle city in canal walk and picked up a set of Kenda Koyote knobs. They assured me that this tire will work in muddy and wet terrain. For they money R129 ea (non folding) I cant be happier. Now just to see how they do... We've had a lot of rain here! anybody know the tires?
  13. Tried calling some of the forum vendors, they do not have any stock. I have not called CWCycles yet. What do these go retail at?
  14. Sorry, they are 26's Kenda Karmas look pretty good. Are they pretty fat (wide) too?
  15. I had a rear blow out and it tore the beading of the tire. Now I absolutely love these tires. They work awesome in my riding conditions. They are light and give decent grip when riding on the rocks. I mainly ride in the vinyards and singletrack mountain hiking trails (Looooooooooots of loose rocks) But its winter now and there is more mud. The small blocks dont work all that well, especially coming down the mountain in a muddy trail. I need a tire that is Light, easy riding on tar Balloon like (think smallblock 8) Works great in mud (its winter now) Is there anything that will work like the sb8 but perhaps better?
