  1. I have a 2016 base Camber. I upgraded it to SRAM GC drivetrain 1x12 and Shimano SLX brakes (from old Tektro). Also added a dropper. So pretty decent except for frame (aluminum) and suspension (recon). The new Evo has a carbon frame, slightly better suspension (RS Reba instead of Recon) but worse brakes (SRAM Level 2 pot). Do you think a new bike would be worth it? Doing about 3-4 hrs over weekends in Stb/Winelands region.
  2. I'm struggling a bit to find decent range and quality of cycling gear. I have never worn these bibs so not sure about them. I have a specialised mountain bike shorts with internal padding which I love but this seems to have fallen out of favour. Where can I get decent padded inners then? I'm a bit chunky so typically need 2XL. And tops? I dont dig these skin tight tops. Where can I get something that is a bit more appropriate for older gents?
  3. Thanks everyone- very useful feedback. I think I will just poach my wife’s old iPhone and get a bicycle mount
  4. Hi - I need something to help me follow a Strava route without having to dig out my phone the whole time. I dont want to put the phone on a handlebar mount. So was wondering if the Edge 130 can do this? Thanks!
  5. 120mm - might be easier to replace the front. The rear is a custom shock which limits my choices
  6. It is a 120mm RS Recon Silver - it does feel very bouncy on rocky/bouldery tracks
  7. I have a aluminum Spez Camber with Rockshox suspension. Thinking about upgrading the suspension but not sure if a weekend warrior like me will notice the difference? I do mostly trail riding around Stellenbosch.
  8. Apologies in advance if forum members are tired of this type of question. I am thinking of buying a Trek Fuel EX 7 29er. Cyclelab sells them for ~ R30k. I want a decent bike although I am not planning to do anything hardcore anytime soon - just a comfortable, versatile bike that will cater for most weekend permutations. The other factor which is quite important is to have something with good resale value if I want to upgrade or end up not using the bike. All thoughts welcome. Thanks! http://cyclelab.com/trek-fuel-ex-7-mtb-2016/
