Hi! Guys I'm thinking of getting the F3. Are you all happy with your watches? Is it really better to get the HR than the normal version? Currently use a fitbit charge HR and I like the fact that I do not need a band around my chest... btw have you guys seen what massive sale amazon had on the f3? Went for R5499, but that special is finished. I have read all the reviews. Looking forward to hearing your opinion.

I will have a look thanks. I really want to support oom Pottie, but I've asked him for prices for a few bikes and it feels like he can't do any specials or nice packages. I'll give him a try and see what price he can get for the same bike. The problem is the shop where I want to buy (Euodia Cycles Hermanus) bought all the large frame Titans that was still available because of the good price. There isn't any at the suppliers in JHB. My riding style would probably lean towards stage racing in the future. Currently it's all new to me and would want to get fit and do some racing when I feel comfortable, but not very competitive. I like singletrack but no big downhill stuff. I know buying second hand might definitely get me better components etc, but I feel for the price new it might be a better option. Being new to MTB I don't have the best knowledge to know what to look for when buying second hand. The other thing is I'm in gansbaai, so traveling is already an issue just to view bikes. Hi! Guys So I just want your honest opinions regarding the purchase of a new Titan Elite 29er? I've been looking to buy a bike on the hub for the past 3-4 months and only now I'm ready to actually buy the bike. This would be my 1st bike purchase and have been reading a lot lately about entry level bikes. Seeing that Bicycling recently reviewed a few race ready bikes where the Titan came up top, I came across a good deal IMO. I can get a brand new Titan Elite 29er with tubeless conversion (and bottle cage ) for R13500. It is a bit above my budget but I think for the components this bike has in comparison with any other new bike out there, the price is difficult to beat. I also want to support my LBS and build a good relationship for the future riding to come. Hi! All So I just missed out on an awesome deal because of logistical issues (Silverback sola 1 2015 large frame for R10000). I'm in Gansbaai and just realised that I have to buy a bike somewhere near where I can actually view and fetch the bike myself (believe it's better this way 90% of the time). I'm still going to keep hawk eyes on the classifieds but I need your guys' help please!? I have a budget of R10000 and I'm 1.84m so best bet is a large frame. Looking to go 29" hard tail seeing that dual suspension might be a bit difficult in my price range. If you guys see of know something worth while would you maybe post it here. I bought my 1st MTB (silverback saturn) ever last year december and had a lot of fun riding the harkerville trails in plett. I was hooked and only want to ride now. Got back home and have been looking around for something better. Sold the bike in the meanwhile and have nothing to ride currently, but I'm patiently waiting for the right bike. Good luck with your search. There's a lot of nice bikes available on the hub, just keep looking.

So this bike came across as a possible buy. It falls in my budget and the bike is about 1 year old. I am about 1.84m at 94kg and am also wondering about if I should rather opt for an XL frame. I currently have a Silverback Saturn XL but i'm not fully comfortable with it. My back tends to get sore after some steep climbing and it feels like my weight is resting a lot on my handlebars which causes my hands to get numb easily (maybe my saddle is too high, but then again, lowering it feels awkward). I think I need to go for a proper bike fitting at a decent shop. Is it better to be at the maximum size for a L frame then to be at the minimum size for an XL frame? I've been introduced to Silverback by my local bike shop owner here in Gansbaai and he speaks highly of the brand, especially because of the value for money. I'm so glad I'm learning from all your replies, never could've thought that the rims would also come into play regarding weigh etc. Thanks, I'm patiently awaiting the right bike to make it's way onto the classifieds.

Is the XT/SLX parts top of the range? Is it all about the parts or is there at least a little importancy towards the brand/frame. I should probably try and ride a few bikes to see what im comfortable with and what suits my style best. Thanks so far for the replies. I'll take everything in account. Not in a hurry. In terms of quality parts, are fox the ultimate brand for forks/shocks and does the fork play a big part in what bike to choose?

Hi! All Im new to the MTB scene and only recently purchased a pre-owned silverback saturn for recreational riding. Having said that, i realised how fun it is riding some trails and XC. Im hooked and really want to get into the sport not so much for comps but for myself and my health. I want to save up for a decent 29" hard tail and have been looking around. My budget is maximum R15000 (which is a bit steep) and have been looking at the following bikes: Scott scale 960 2015 (R11999 vbike) Scott scale 950 2015 (14999 vbike) Merida big 9 500 (R13500) Momsen AL329 Titan elite 29er (14999) All has got air suspension which i was told is much better than hydraulic. Scott seems to win the race when talking to bike shop employees. I would appreciate your opinions. Thanks
