  1. Hi. Was going to get the carbon 3 this coming weekend at cwc, but see that the price has gone back up to 68k. Don't know why, emailed for a price, just in case. If not, will have to get carbon 4. Will there be a huge difference between the two? Except the drive trains, will upgrade to eagle anyways.
  2. Hi, been out all day, so just saw posts. Peron- Send silverback an email and they said new sido will be available March, price on their site is R38 000. Traveler- I very much like the scalpel, only 2 questions. 1. Trek top fuel or Cannondale scalpel(lol) 2. Brand new si5 alloy or secondhand carbon 2017? Don't really want to go secondhand but will consider it. Thanks
  3. Hello everyone. I'm thinking about upgrading to a dual suspension mtb. My bubget is about R40 000. Will only be in about a month or two from now, but just wanna get a feel for what I should be looking for. I have been looking at 3 bikes, silverback sido 1(coming march), momson vipa 2 and cannondale si 5 scalpel. As it is a lot of money and I would like to make an informative decision and reviews are few, I would appreciate some views and opinions. I usually do a few 3 day stage and 1 day 60km events. I am not near a cycly shop that I can do test rides or look at the bikes, but plan on going to cape town next month and will have a look then. Thanks Jacky
  4. Thanks, that is pretty helpfull. I just had a quick look at the merida and momsen and the main difference seem to be the cassette and chainwheel. Momsen has the xt m8000 36/26t chainwheel and m8000 11-40t cassette, while merida has the deore xt 40/30/22 chainwheel and cassette. Which one should be better in the long run? Sorry for all the questions, but it is alot of money to spend and would like to make the best informed decision I can.
  5. As soon as you know the answer, they change the question. Lol. It is the 2016 momsen. Will try to compare tonight. This must be a noob question, but is deore xt and xt the same?
  6. Thanks alot. Will definitely be looking at the merida.
  7. Hi. I have been cycling(mtb) since February. I bought a schwinn moab3 secondhand just to see if this cycling thing is for me. Enjoying it so far and have an itch to buy a new bike. I live in the countryside and not near a decent cycle shop, so I would like a few suggestions or opinions before I decide what and if I should buy. The moab is a 27speed, air shock with remote lockout, hydraulic brakes, alivio front and deore rear derailleurs. I can get a new momsen al529 for R21000. Now my question is, will I notice a difference between the bikes and is there maybe another bike in that price range I should be looking at? Have done some googling and can't find a review for the momsen. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
