  1. MartynS that's dreadfull and I hope you have already been to have that arm seen to and reported the incident it really is important. What area of Shongweni is that? Anywhere near Shongweni Dam? We ride at the dam quiet often that's why I'm asking. Feel better soon and don't let them get away with this
  2. Does Tucker trails have a website yet? Do you offer any accomodation other than camping for those of us that don't own tents? Is the Country Lodge fairly close to you The Country Lodge Ramsgate. There are a few of us interested in coming for a weekend but some live out Howick / Karkloof and midlands way so accomodation close by would be a bonus. Lills2009-12-16 14:27:56
  3. Hi Hampster, That sounds terrific. We are supposed to be having a group ride in Karkloof that weekend but are having problems with Sappi. Would you mind very much if I posted this news on the other forum for those people to see . We are all looking for a place to gather and this sounds ideal if we dont come right with Sappi. Will we need EMBO boards or anything like that (I have my ROAG board). Thanks, Lills
  4. Thanks, that sounds really good and my kids should love it. Not as much as the double choc and caramel brownies i'm baking for my almost 9 year old birthday ...
  5. I second that 500%. More daylight time to spend with family and friends doing the things we love outdoors is more than enough good reason especially when you got to be at work crazy early for those early rise gym bunnies
  6. Are you getting a good balance of strength and cardio training? Strength (weight bearing) will help build / tone muscle which helps to burn bodyfat. Our muscles are our engines and need to be fueled. Make sure you are getting enough protein to protect the muscle but to force the body to access bodyfat for energy. A good comination of carbs and healthy fats is also important and should be obtained from your fruits and veg. 5 - 6 small meals a day and the 1st after exercise if possible. Breakfast is a must as it starts the engine (metabolism) for the day. Eating after 8 and not eating carbs at night is a myth. Regular small well balanced meals or protein shakes as snacks or a meal replacement are also good if you don't have the time to pack a couple of small meals for work. Hope it helps.
  7. You all have me really excited and happy there just for a moment... and then I realised it Hillcrest in another province not good ol KZN. Guess we'll just have to find and make our own....
  8. yeah very very funny. Mine can but only once he's been for his checkup!
  9. Hi all, has anyone tried any of the CycleOps Power classes yet? I'm into my 4th week and can definately feel a difference in my cycling especially see a difference as far as HR etc go. Tonights session was extremely interesting as I've never stood on my pedals and cycled before. Ever. We did intervals at our temp watts using 70 - 75 rpm. Wow it's hard to cycle that slowly and then to have to stand and pedal and then sit and then stand. I'll be very surprised if I can walk tomorrow despite all my stretching. Definately something I'll have to practise. I'm looking forward to testing the results out on the tracks. Thanks for reading, Lills
  10. Dischem Hillcrest still don't have KORU?
  11. It's a great sport and there is a lot to learn and mostly something each time you go out. Don't feel too bad, I feel the same about sand and mud and grass and a lot of otherthings, just how bad depends on the circumstances they are encountered in.
  12. pity you're so far away from Hillcrest KZN
  13. Geez! someone had bitch pie for breakfast
  14. Awesome. I'll be at Dischem soon. Hopefully they'll have some Koru by then. I'm going to be needing it next week.
  15. If anyone knows who is opening the new CycleLab in Hilcrest maybe we can get them and Maverick involved. I'll see if I can find out. It would be great business for a cycle shop that's about to open.
  16. I can help out in Hillcrest. Especially needed after the rude cycling of a lady through the centre of Hilcrest the other day. My kids are better mannered on their bicycles and they are still learning A really good idea and I look forward to being able to help. Let me know when it's planned for.
  17. congrats, I just went to the site today as first I heard of the comp only to find there are none at present Good for you though. They are stunning and you are so lucky!
  18. Yeah it was great. Not sure where you disappeared to Fruitloop, but you missed out on a great ride. I wish I knew the name of the guy who took hubby and I out but he was really great and figured out what we were capable of managed to push our limits and improve our overal riding and at the sametime provide a really quality ride. I learned a lot about what I can handle despite my downhill fears and felt really good after the ride. The kind of person you ask for by name the next time you're there and wanting to up the game. Now I just need to do something about the coffee they use in those otherwise terrific cappacinos.
  19. Cool you can't miss me in my Go-Multi kit
