  1. Clever idea, is there really that much movement where the spokes cross? Anyway, I bought some bladed alpina spokes, very light, about the same as revolutions. Spoked wheel radially on one side, it definitely feels stifferer(not as much movement laterally). I think the revolutions were under tensioned though.
  2. Radial lacing on one side? These hubs have huge flanges. It is currently spoked 3x both sides. Can't tension too high, these rims have bad reputation of nipples pulling through.
  3. Hi, they are ac sprint 350 wheels. Just have an issue with the back. I know the rims are not the most rigid, at only 350 grams. I am around 75kg, so not that heavy. Would it be better to spoke radially on the non drive side? I think radially gives a stiffer wheel laterally?
  4. Ok thks, are you using the bladed or round ones? Where is their shop in jhb?
  5. Hi, I am currently running revolution spokes and find them too flexy, even with 32 spoke count. Is there a more rigid spoke but still light weight? Rapide sell alpina spokes, how good are they?
  6. Anyone know what's happened to tri-cycles online store?
  7. Hi guy's, anyone have opinions on these wheels? Was browsing the internet, there is a bike store selling this wheel kit for 259 dollars. Kinlin xr200 rims, a sub 400 gram rim. Total wheel weight 1260grams! 150 pound rider limit. I see tricycles.co.za are selling a similar wheel set for R2600, but it weighs 1380grams? Which is the better deal? The bike store in America is bikehubstore.com. It would probably cost R3500 to land the wheels here from them.
  8. Chaps, can I use a 10 speed chain on a nine speed system/cassette? I have just replaced my old 9 speed cassette, my chain is also a bit old so think it needs replacing too, so can I use a 10 speed chain on it or does it have to be a nine speed chain?
  9. My thinking is, all this does is "absorb" energy/speed on the flats/downhills and "releases" it on the uphills, so you are really getting no gain. As with all systems there will be losses between the "absorbed" energy and the "released" energy(as in less aerodynamics in the wheels with these objects spinning around), so at the end of the day you will actually loose.
  10. I made one of these tools myself out of 3mm tufnel plate(easy to machine and drill) Bit of a mission but if you have the tools it works 100%. Think I drilled an 18mm hole in the tufnel piece, then filed out the square splined teeth. From what I remember the pedals have a right and left hand thread there as well.
  11. Also gave up on patching, never seems to work, they eventually leak. Must be another way, maybe superglue will work better
  12. A Large should be spot on. Good choice, extremely light and stiff frames!
