  10. Hi There guys, I need some help or advice about these mentioned Disc brakes. I want to upgrade my Hayes Stroker ryde brakes. I am looking at shimano SLX, also Avid Elixer R and Elixer 5, and Magura Julie. Maybe also Deore M595..heard the juicy 3's are crap. I do normal cross country riding. I am looking to spend around R1500. What are the most common problems with these brakes and which are the easiest to maintain and adjust. I dont want to take the bike in to the lbs for minor things like adjusting the brakes..My current Hayes strokers drive me crazy because i dont know hoe to adjust them and i do one ride in the mud and they start rubbing.. thanks!

  15. Thanks man!
  16. I am thinking of getting one of these. Does anyone have experience or comments? Available from CWC @ R1400, think that a reasonable price for what you get! http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/sigma-bc-2209-mhr-heart-rate-computer http://www.sigmasport.com/us/produkte/bikecomputer/topline_2009_wireless/bc2209/
  17. roadbike: 92.3km/h somewhere during the 2008 Argus..(no headwinds like 2009 + 2010)
  18. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/78626-silverbacks-new-spectra-and-ventura-mtbs/
  19. you can get a brand new silverback spectra 2011 model (10spd shimano XT) ro R11k or the 2011 ventura for R8.5k, both with rock shox recon. Very nice! (google image them) But theres not much between the Giant and the Felt, same specs so I'd go with the one that feels the best to ride..(i rode a giant and was very happy!)
  20. Bought some sram X0 gripshifters monday and got them wednesday. Great service, the guys phoned me twice to make sure I was happy. cheaper than cwc on parts
  21. Agree with Big H. This is starting to sound a bit scary. I am one who doesnt easily believe in conspiracy theories and the like...not one to see events or happenings like these as "signs" of things to come....but this murder story really doesnt add up...something's not right here This might just be the start of something...

So true.. I must say, apartheid had good intentions..but it was wrong and didnt work..But more than 20 years down the line, the extremists like bra julius still want to reverse the order and see the white man in the position they were in back then..btw jm must have been 2years old when apartheid ended anyway so what can he say about the struggle? Ek is gladnie 'n rassis nie. Dalk moes ek nie hierdie thread begin het nie... but its interesting to see everyones views..
  23. ET was murdered on his farm tonight by two of his farm workers because they were paid late.. No jokes... Looks like its not ANC or Malema related..
