This event is mostly farm roads or district roads. The winners normally average around 30 km/h. There are sections of single track on all of the events with the lap race having the highest percentage of single track distance

We are also introducing a new event for the high school kids (15-18 year old). The mini 3-in-1, which will be the half marathon and lap race

Event Name: MegChem Cycle Challenge When: 25 October 2014 Where: Secunda Hoërskool, Mpumulanga Category: Road Hi Please join us for the MegChem Cycle Challenge (road cycling event) on 25 October 2014 in Secunda. There will be racing over 100 km, 54 km, 20 km as well as the spectator-friendly street mile (first 20 riders in 100 km will qualify for street mile). Hi guys We have hosted this event since 2007, with a couple of different routes through the years due to road works. This year's routes will be the same as the original (and last year). It seems that these ones work the best as it has the least amount of times that cyclists have to cross roads, with most turn-offs being either slipways or left hand turns. We make use of local and provincial traffic officers and will have marshalls at all crossings and turn-offs.
