  1. Those complaining that the route does not 'show off Joburg' must be from the East? And to that I say THERE IS NOTHING TO SHOW OFF HERE For me the entire day ran smoothly as well, although I'm not referring to my legs or my riding. Entry into FNB Stadium was a lot easier than Riversands for me, coming from the East and taking the Soweto Highway offramp I flowed straight into Silver Parking a short distance from the start. Those coming from the North will probably have a different outlook, seemed like a lot of congestion coming in from that side. Agree with Jan Smuts, only those who've been up there for that entire length on two self-propelled wheels know. More than one person on the way up complained that 'this is worse than the Argus!'
  2. I saw quite a lot of bikes loaded on sweep vehicles during the day, it would help though to note how many riders 'Started' the race as yeah quite a few of those 3000 may have been DNS but it is a lot.
  3. Was this around 8:30? I saw an Elite rider on the ground not moving, face down covered in blood. He was being attended to by someone only for another rider to crash into them, he proceeded to scream and shout quite bizarrely. The rider on the floor still didn't move. I was thinking about this during the entire race and just hope he is ok.
  4. 12 607 Entered 9 518 Finished This is according to www.ridejoburg.co.za results page.
  5. Thanks, will go with the replace option. Have not worn it since it took this knock. Off the bike for a while due to coming off worse than the helmet in other areas
  6. Hi Guys, Anyone know if the dent on my helmet requires it to be replaced for safety?? Thanks
  7. Not quite the couch but here you go
  8. Makes me happy that I made the decision to snap this one up
  9. Glad to read that you've had good experiences with Momsen. I've been looking for a 2nd hand dual sus for a while now and just wasn't able to find a 'big name' in a small frame at a good price, in good condition. Enjoy the Epic
  10. Would love to have bought new but budget doesn't allow for now
  11. Ended up going for the Vipa. This is my first dual sus, price was good with extras thrown in and condition good too so turned out to be a good deal. Thanks for all the replies
  12. How are you enjoying the Vipa? Servicing is also a concern, I was just drawn into considering that particular Epic due to the price but it was obviously cheaper due to the condition although the extent of the scratches, chips etc was not disclosed.
  13. Thanks guys, turned out that the Epic is in bad shape so ruling out the particular one I had my eye on.
  14. Hi There, Looking for an opinion from the experts Thoughts on a used Specialized Epic Comp Carbon 29 BM 943 (2015) VS a Momsen Vipa One (2017) - Both Small Frame and with original set up, except the Vipa has a set of Maxxis Ikon's instead of the original Vee Tire Co. Rail Trackers. Thanks
