  1. I recently bought a second hand Carbon Scott Genius MC 30 and the frame is creaking around the BB (when I stand up and pedal, badly, and when I am sitting and pedaling, slightly less). Anyone know what can be done or what the problem is?
  2. I think the best way to get rid of the smell would be, from new, put your cycling kit in a bucket of omo as soon as you get back from a ride instead of leaving it for a while and the sweat dries letting bacteria breed and give you that smell. I have always done this and never had a smell.
  3. Thanks a lot for the advice guys. Need new tyres on my race bike anyway, so why not go tubeless then. I was just worried about the puncture out in the bush or mountain and then being stuck with the flat and not being able to repair it. But if you say carry a spare tube anyway, and it can be put in in extreme circumstances then that's cool.
  4. I have a set of Maxxis Larser TT Tubeless tyres on my spare bike (which I just bought) which I am considering putting on my race bike. I have a few questions though: 1) If I get a puncture while far out in the mountain/bush, what if the tyres sealant does not fill the hole and I am stuck out there with a flat tyre? And is the tyre sealant guaranteed to fill the hole? 2) How often does one need to re-fill the sealant in the tyre? 3) Can I put the tubeless tyres on with tubes in them instead of tubeless? 4) What is the benefit of going tubeless, puncture resistance?
  5. Check out this review of it, most say it breaks and flexes too much, I wouldn't know as I haven't tested it out yet, just going on what reviews say http://www.mtbr.com/cat/older-categories-bikes/2003-front-shocks/manitou/skareb-comp/prd_362088_1515crx.aspx
  6. I think the Skareb is lighter but I have only read bad things about it, they seem to flex a LOT and many many many reviews have said that they break if you put them under a little bit of pressure. They are both coil shocks, they aren't the latest models which are air. So they pretty similar just don't want the shock breaking on me when coming down hill at a speed and I go flying.
  7. oh, that sucks. I have got a SRAM X9 RD aswel but wana keep the SLX one cause its in waaay better condition. And I would rather keep it all shimano then.
  8. will the x9 work with shimano deraileurs?
  9. I have two sets of shifters for my mountain bike, SRAM X9 and Shimano LX, both in the same kind of condition. Not sure which one is better to keep on my bike. Also have two options for a front shock, I have a Manitou Skareb and a Rock Shox Tora, which one should I keep? Both shocks don't have lockout and are pretty much similar. Please help me out here by giving me advice as to which shifters and which front shocks I should keep? Any comments welcome. I am leaning towards the SRAM X9 and Rock Shox Tora, but not sure. Shot
  10. Ahhh thanks a lot. So it is a zero sag system after all.
  11. I would if I could find the set up for the Bianchi bikes like this.
  12. haha, I have got a shock pump, just not sure what the hell to pump it too. I was told that this type of frame and system must not run with 20%, and that I must follow the specific charts. Apparently this NRS2 was the last frame Giant made with this type of pivot system because they didn't patent it and Bianchi now makes this system and has Patented it.
  13. Hi Hubbers, I recently bought a Giant NRS2 with a Rock shox SID rear shock. Apparently this bike has such a specific pivot system and that whole "20% sag rule" for rear shocks does not apply to this frame and shock. I can't seem to find a chart for it on the net or anything which can give me any idea as to what I should pump the + and - chambers to for my weight. Can anyone help me? Attached is a pic of a bike like mine that I got off the web just so you know what you dealing with and a pic of my actual shock.
  14. Oh, and I weigh 76kg...and a climber...
  15. I have got a pair of American classic Sprint 350's and a pair of Easton Vista SL's of which one pair I have to get rid of and one pair I am keeping, I just cannot decide. The American Classic are 600grams lighter than the Easton's but apparently the Easton's are stronger for our South African roads(the guy at the bike shop says). Below is a pic of both wheels, please tell me which is the better wheel and which one is worth more as I am not sure which one to take.
