  1. Probably one of the best organised and well maintained routes and events around. Reminds me of a local version of the Eselfontein race. Amazing scenery and lekker singletrack. Definitely a must try!
  2. That should be the best route yes. Just be careful on the roadworks as you turn off Vlaeberg and onto Baden Powell
  3. Quick update? What did I miss. Seems like the day has been quite eventful...
  4. Definitely. Looks like they are out there enjoying themselves and not taking themselves too seriously
  5. Apparently Nino is a very "chatty" rider, talking shi!t and getting under the skin of the other riders. All part of the race I reckon. Its tooth and nails in the front
  6. Yes, as I understand it the first incident, the bikejacking, was as you finish with Mongoose and go down that bit towards the Hazendal Manor house (there was a wire across the road a bit back also - maybe connected??) The second one as I understand it, is when you get to the top (the very top, not where you turn left to join the red) of Kaapzicht killer and can go right back to Zevenwacht or left towards the long green and the steep climb towards the signal tower
  7. Any more info on this incident? I cycle these routes, especially the green loop, almost daily Does the "end of the green loop" refer to the Hazendal entry?
  8. Hi there, So my wife and I are planning a trip to Europe for 2019 and want to do a bit of a cycle trip... The plan is to fly in to Amsterdam, spend the weekend there, then on Monday morning we start cycling The route planned out is about 350km and we want to cover it in 5 days, allowing for some nice sightseeing and exploring of little towns en route. I have been struggling to find firstly, bikes to rent which arent the "usual" dutch bikes (like a 29er or even a hybrid), and secondly, finding a company where you can pickup in Amsterdam and drop off in Bruges (or even Brussels) This will also be a self guided tour as we dont fit into the 7-8 day bike barge tours freely available and as mentioned, we would like to be the deciders of how we spend our day on the bike If anyone has done a trip similar to this one, I would welcome any feedback or tips/advice Thanx Claude PS, we have thought about taking our own, but it seems like there are mixed feelings about it on here. The extra payment (or non-payment) is one thing, but I would hate to arrive that side with something broken and struggling to find a place to help repair
  9. Ag nee man, daar van alle plekke. Voel altyd so veilig daar. Hoop hulle is OK! Enige kommentaar van die Bottelary HIlls conservancy??
  10. Thanx for the response. Also got the mail yesterday, lets get out there!!
  11. Thanx for the suggestions. I have spoken to Eloff @ Cyclosport and he says they usually let them know when its available, but haven't yet Have also sent a message on FB and an email to info@bottel... but no response. Will see if I can call the guys at Bottelary Hills Conservancy directly
  12. Hi there, I recently moved back through the boerewors curtain and was wondering if Bottelary Hills still have the half-year permit available?
  13. Thanx for the update, will search around a bit
