Norwegian road cycling superstar Vita Heine (HITEC Products) made it two-out-of-two for the KZN Summer Series when she claimed a calculated victory after 118 kilometres in the saddle during the Queen Sibiya Classic, in a time of three hours 18 minutes and 10 seconds at Midmar Dam on Thursday 17 November. It was blood, sweat and gears for some of the world’s top women cyclists today as they battled the elements along the 105-kilometre route, with Norwegian Vita Heine (HITEC Products) grabbing a decisive victory in the Queen Nandi Challenge in a time of three hours 16 minutes and 17 seconds at Midmar Dam on Wednesday 16 November. Like the arrival of the summer rains, the province of KwaZulu-Natal will soon welcome with open arms the teams taking part in the inaugural KZN Summer Series on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 November 2016. Local team, Cycle Nation Women’s Team, will be one of the teams taking part in the series, and team manager Lincoln King says that this is a huge step for women’s cycling in the country.
