  1. September 25th at 19:00 at Modderfontein Reserve! Has anyne done this before and if so how was it?
  2. Ride a bit at Modder and heard this week that they are going up to R50 a ride from 1 Feb 2015 - 25% increase! Even if you buy their card - it still works out expensive, especially when you compare it to the likes of Northern Farms. If you taking a family in for a ride, you in for R200 before you have even wiped the k@k from your eyes? Any opinions?
  3. The company I work for has organised an MTB event at Central Park Trails in Modderfontein. Some of us are contemplating riding from Midrand to the start and then obviously home again. The shortest driving distance is the highway which we cannot take, but, is there any routes that we could ride directly to the reserve? (even if some of it has to be tar) If there is a direct route, is it 'safe' to ride? There will only be a few riders together (so far I only have one other rider who has shown interest in doing this with me) Allendale is obviously an option, but, that is definitely going the long way around (going down Allendale is about 25km whereas direct can't really be more than 10km)
  4. To the two cyclists who stopped to help my wife after a nasty crash near the end of the Modders green route this morning around 11, our gratitude and thanks. The feeling of community and willingness to help is one of the things we enjoy most about mountain biking. Thanks also to everyone who came past and checked whether we were OK. A thorough checkup showed no damage other than a serious shiner. Thanks again!

    USN Cup Races

Hi Guys, I want to start a general discussion around some of the Gauteng based Races in the USN cup series. First off let me say this, these are great events and held at awesome venues with some exceptional single-track. It is however a bit concerning that the overall and category winners don't receive bigger prizes. The entry fees are similar to what you would pay for one of the Advendurance races, there are close to 1000 entrants, why don't they reward the winners better?
