  1. Good evening Hubbers I was curious to find out what local bicycle brands currently exist in South Africa. Any help expanding on the list would be amazing ????. The proudly South African bicycle manufacturers I am aware of (at least at the time of posting this) are the following: Momsen Pyga Signal Avalanche Rook Simple Sam Looking forward to broadening my horizons and adding some local ‘gems’ to the list????
  2. Hi all, been a few years since I was here, so I hope I'm posting in the correct place. I'm looking for local bicycle companies / brands. They can be a manufacturer of any type of bicycle, at any quality level, fully manufactured in SA or imported and branded as local. I'm looking for said companies as part of my research into a Jobs Creation project being run by a client of mine. Many thanks
  3. Hi Everyone A couple of points and questions . Those of you that follow new shimano di2 development , will know that there is a wireless transmitter to show what gear you are in and your battery percentage on your garmin available to plug into your existing di2 integral or dura ace , and a remote steering fitted shifter that fits onto your handlebars for easy shifting . My question is why are these components not available in South Africa ? I have asked numerous cycle shops to order them but all of their responses are either shimano SA have no clue what I'm talking about or the most common answer is there is no worldwide stock available . Bear in mind I have been trying to order since the launch of these products in 2014 , so no stock available is a nonsense answer , and on speaking to many bike shops , they all say that Shimano SA importers only bring in what they think will sell and will not take special orders . Anyone care to shed some light on this ? Yes i know one can order from the UK or US , but why should we not be able to order legit Shimano components in our own country . Thanks Richard
  4. Hi I have been selling on the hub for a few years now. Whenever I sell something, it's either collected/delivered or small enough to send via Postnet R99 or Speed Services, Aramex etc. I am currently selling a set of wheels and have an interested buyer. I sourced a wheel box from my LBS and went and got quotes from the usual suspects. Cheapest I could find was R685, almost half what I am asking for the wheels. Question here is who do you use for local larger packages? I have searched the forums and nothing pops up, so sorry if this has been covered before.
