  1. Hey Bikehub Pretty new to the scene, busy shopping around for a frame to start my build of a DJ/Slopestyle bike but need some advice, please. With the Trek Ticket S being so expensive and difficult to source in S.A, what other recommendations might you have for me for something similar, in regard to the rear suspension and overall frame setup? There is a pic attached for some reference as well.
  2. Hi Bikehub So just some background on myself - 23 years old, and have a really big Motocross background (about 8 years) and about 4 or so years of some BMX riding. The BMX riding included both street and dirt but mainly was time to spend time with mates and have a bit of fun off from Moto. Unfortunately though, I don't do either anymore. Haven't ridden a BMX in a couple years now I have always had a proper interest in Slopestyle Mountain Biking and Downhill. They were both sports, in my opinion, that resonated with Motocross really well. From the style of riding, to the riders themselves and the culture surrounding the sport, it was always something I could relate to really well. I've followed the sport ever since - almost equally as closely as Moto. So to fast-forward to today, I am dying to start riding some Slopestyle/Dirt again, but this time on a Hardtale And this is where the questions come in: How active is the sport in South Africa, but more specifically Gauteng? Riding alone SUCKS, I know that from experience. Even maybe some BMX groups that have some decent sized jumps they frequent? How and where do I begin looking for the whips needed to start? All the Online Cycling Stores seem to focus on MTB and Road and don't offer much direction in regard to what im looking for - even second hand if there is a market at all for them. I have found some but not worth my money. Any feedback here would be appreciated
  3. The largest slopestyle mountain biking competiton in the world, Red Bull Joyride, closed out the final day of the weeklong Crankworx Whistler festival today at Whistler Blackcomb Mountain. Dubbed ‘Slopestyle Sunday’, fifteen of the world’s best slopestyle athletes went head-to-head in a gravity-defying showdown infront of 30,000 spectators packed into the Whistler Plaza for the season defining contest and a main event of the Red Bull Signature Series. Watch the winning run by Canadian Brett Rheeder below. Click here to view the article

  5. He knew what he wanted: big, floaty jumps in the ideal location and with the perfect slope and sublime dirt. So when he saw an opportunity to build his own slopestyle course in the Coast Gravity Park, Logan picked up some tools and started sculpting. A colossal build like this is never a one-man endeavour, though. Logan’s vision was made reality with the sweat and skills of machine operator Darren Hemstreet, The Coastal Crew and his dad. And when the machines went quiet and the dust settled, it was time to capture on camera what Logan means by big and floaty. This is The Backwoods - Logan’s Peat’s dream set. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2qL9LWaksc Click here to view the article
