My order was dispatched on Wednesday 16th Feb. Tomorrow it will be 3 weeks. I used the el-cheapo delivery method. Is this normal or should I get worried yet? I'm sure my previous orders took just under 2 weeks in the past.

Just collected it an hour ago. Can relax now.

No, I would not stress yet. I once placed an order and chose the cheap shipping method. It took 5 weeks.

So yeah, I would recommend paying the extra for parcel force

Have ordered many times from them. Last order arrived last week Wednesday, exactly one week after ordering.

Have you tried online tracking? And isn't parcelforce the standard service?

I ordered wheels that still had to be built up and it only took 6 days from order to delivery, using the free postal system. I suggest you get the tracking nr from the CRC and contact the PO asap.

Parcelforce is only the default when an order over the free shipping amount is placed.

For anything less than that amount, Royal Mail is the cheapest option, and Royal Mail shipments do not have tracking numbers

Sorry to Say Sawdust, I had a similar experience with CRC and using DHL. Got some wise comments from the"experts on the site"

Took over 5 weeks to get from CRC. Complained and to date have not had a response from them. Lesson Learnt!!

My opinion track it, as CRC care a rats butt what happens..........

Login to your account on CRC

Click 'view your orders'

A list pops up showing your order history, status of every order plus a breakdown of every item in every order

In the far right column under 'more info' you'll see a 'view order' next to every order

Click that.

Two of my orders were shipped via Royal Mail and it says this:

"Order Item Status: Complete

Shipping Method: Royal Mail International | Shipping Date: 19/12/2006 00:00:00 | Shipping Reference: RI434430552GB"

Take that shipping reference and phone the post office tracking number (on their website)and give it to them and ask for the SA tracking number that replaces it once it gets here. They can give you an update on the package over the phone.

Also, go to www.sapo.co.za and in the top dropdown box select 'Track & Trace' which wil open a new window. Insert tracking number and voila.

Royal Mail used to supply tracking numbers... Not anymore unfortunately.

That sucks. Then the OP is at the mercy of CRC. Have to say that I have found them to be very helpful in the past. Hope he/she has the same experience.

Yeah... I just checked my last Royal Mail order and sadly it said this:

post-10758-0-07219500-1299588457.jpg

(no tracking #)

So like you say... the OP is at the mercy of CRC...

But on the bright side... becasue the order is Royal Mail, it means it's less than R3000 and I have heard of cases where Royal Mail shipments haven't arrived and the customer has contacted CRC and CRC resends (they're big enough to cover a loss of less than R3000 just to keep a customer happy).

In fact, during my 5 week long wait, I contacted CRC thinking that the order was missing, and they were willing to do the same. Fortunately 2 days after the email, the order arrived.

OK, thanks for all the advice. This was the first time that I used Royal Mail. Before, my orders used to be over R3000 with free shipping. That must've been with Parcel Force which is why it was faster. I'll wait a bit longer then.
