divernick Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Does anyone commute from Fourways / Lonehill area to Midrand? I am considering it but would like to hear about safety, routes and anything else that may persuade me to either do it or not do it. The 20-odd km distance works for me....
Berndawg Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 bump Thinking of doing the same but I have to ride from Northriding to Bedfordview (30km+. If you coming from Lonehill id suggest going up witkoppen till you reach the T-junction (Maxwell), take a right onto Maxwell then you keep straight and over Woodmead drive till the next T-junction which is Pta Main Rd. From there ou go left toward midrand to where you need to be. pretty easy.
boefbrak Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Planning the same here, from Constantia Kloof (14th avenue) to Woodmead (30km). Planning to ride along Christiaan de Wet all the way through 4 ways, Sunning hill. One problem however, work doesn't have any shower facilities, any ideas?
divernick Posted July 14, 2011 Author Posted July 14, 2011 As soon as it's light at 6am I am going to start riding to work. Paulshof to Midrand. I don't get enough time on weekends to do any serious training, so I think that 20km each way is going to whip me into shape nice and quick. On my SS of course. At least 3 days a week.
