  1. Thanks a million. I did come right with a swap, but I could use your frame to build a bike to donate to someone less fortunate, to use as daily transport. I'll send you a PM.
  2. For what I could sell it for, I wouldn't get a ss-specific MTB steel frame, I'm afraid.
  3. Guys, I'm looking to swap my black, medium Solaris for a Simple in any colour - also medium. Any takers?
  4. It's been a while, but I'm offering another basic bike repair course on 01 December at the PWC bike park. More info and bookings at: http://www.buildabikesa.com/product/basic-bicycle-repair/
  5. She's always evolving. Same bike as the original opening post of this thread. Now running a SID, AbsoluteBlack oval ring on Saint cranks and Spank Oozy Trail 345 rims on Hope Pro4 hubs. Singlespeed. And a Lyne dropper.
  6. Wheelbuilder.co.za in Joburg. Courier is less than R600 return
  7. Me too, like balls of coral.
  8. I can and do use everything that is donated to Build-a-Bike SA. Please drop off at the PWC Bike Park whenever convenient. Cheers!
  9. I used it a bit after a lower service i did on my Manitou. (which takes 15min whe I do it, BTW) I keep my stanchions super-clean between rides and I found, based on performance, I needed to do the lower service again much sooner than normal. That Brunox really gunked up the foam rings. Needless to say I've stopped using it.
  10. http://www.buildabikesa.com/product/basic-bicycle-repair/ Next course is on 23 Sept at the PWC Bike Prk in Bryanston, from 9am to 1pm. More info and bookings on the website.

  14. You're right. Let me add some next dates quick.
  15. I'm almost done editing the following videos: Adjusting front derailleursAll about chains - removal, replacement, tools etcAny other requests for videos? I'm thinking of brake bleeding, tools to own, cranks and BB's, how to replace a cassette and chain rings. Anything I'm missing?
  16. I have 4 places left for the basic bike repair course this Saturday at the PWC Bike Park if anyone's keen. More info here: http://www.buildabikesa.com/product/basic-bicycle-repair/
  17. I had a Peugeot Mirage in the 90's with Suntour Blaze groupset. Everything worked really well. I Upgraded from 6-speed to Shimano 7-speed after a while and went Shimano 500EX for the downtube shifters and RD when my school mate upgraded his Cannondale to STI's. Ah, the memories.Enjoy the Peugeot! Let me know if you need any period-correct parts - I have a few lying about....
  18. I run a basic bike repair course once a month and the skill I see most people lack is how to effectively adjust a rear derailleur. (course details HERE) So for everyone that would like to know how, here's a video tutorial.
  19. The b-screw controls how far the upper derailleur pulley is from the largest cog on the cassette. Shift into the 42 and observe the clearance. Turn b-screw clockwise until the upper pulley / jockey wheel clears the cog. Job done.
