140mm discs

Alot a XC racers use 140mm discs on their back wheels. To do so you simply use a 160mm front IS to Post adapter. Now you can use on on the front aswell. Not that I can see why as you want better stopping power at the front. This was seen at NAHBS. A 203mm adapter turned upside down. What they did not say was if it was a front or rear adapter.

IMHO, this is just silly. Trends like these have the potential to end up in tears, with people crashing off trail and breaking collar bones. Just saying..

That looks like a road bike fork to me. Is it? If so, it would make sense to use a smaller disc.

 

Edit: Yes, it has to be. It is a cable actuated brake, provably wired to standard Shimano road shifters. Interesting.

Yes Johan, it's on a cross bike.

Would make sense on a cross bike where the descents are short and not that steep/technical.

 

For MTB I actually think that the best option would be 185mm front and 140mm back.
