Mongoose Front derailleur

Hi I just bought a Mongoose Meteore team the red and black frame, but I dont know what size Front derailleur to get?

Can anyone help me?

Either look at the number on your seatpost clamp or take it with to the shop and they will be able to help you.

Got one of those. All new FD come with spacers so will fit onto the meteore frame. The seat tube is pretty narrow so you won't buy one that is too small. Just make sure you get the correct mechanism, my bike isn't here now but i think the right one is the bottom pull, not the top pull. For some reason the position of the cable routing only allows for one of the mechanisms. Most LBS should stock both types though...just check before you decide to buy online and get the wrong one, which is what i did.

So I should get an Bottom Pull Derailleur?

I see that it uses a 31.6 post so most likely it will be a 34.9 collar and derailleur. With Shimano you can just buy it and not use any of the spacers supplied. If it is this one

then you can get the top swing (cage is higher then the clamp) one.

I reckon, but if you're not sure buy it and get it fitted at you local bike store as they will then definately give you the correct one. I do think it take a bottom pull.

If it is the one in the link I posted then you will need a top pull. But with Shimano it does not matter. The same changer can be used for both.
