I have never done it before , myself and a mate were considering doing this tomorrow as well .

is it an easy route to follow , what sort of distance is it etc.

usually ride rietvlei or groenkloof and out rides to the circus etc

Yeah what distance it that? were execly do you start? I normaly start at 12th.... how is the over grown grass?

It will be about 35-40km if you ride from Riverside in Bryanston, looping all the way through Emmerentia and the forest at the top. I've heard the grass is still overgrown in Bryanston and Hurlingham before Fratelli, from Fratelli its 100's you can loop around Delta park on your way up.

there is also quite a bit of single track over Beyers Naude if you turn right at the bottom of the 9 hole golf course (Roosevelt Park), ride up the road all the way over past the shell garage and follow the track into the veld there, adds about 5km and brings you back to the main entrance at the Botanical gardens.
