Hi all

I need some advice and info from you guys in the know.

I am building up a new BH Ultimate (hardtail) as an xc race bike. My full sus drivetrain is all XX 42/28 and 11/36, with XX derailleurs front and rear. I am enjoying the shifting that i am getting from it and was planning on running the same on the hardtail only with a Rotor 40/27 crankset. Thing is, I need a high mount direct mount front derailleur which only get made by SRAM in the XO range, to fit my frame.

So the options are: XX shifters with XX rear derailleur and XO front

XX shifters with XO front and rear

XO all round

Questions: Apart from the weight, what's the big differance in shifting between the XX and XO?

If i decide to go XX on the rear, will the shorter cage derailleur pick up all the slack on the 40/27 11/36 combo?

If I decide to go XO on the rear, will the medium cage derailleur be good on that combo?

Any thoughts ont his will be appreciated.

Cheers
