Dsan Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Some greedy african **** will steal at the slightest opportunity. Bike bag was checked-in at ORT, onward to Munich and the bag never made it to the plane. it is now awol and nowhere to be found in SA. Shock horror!! one missing eddy merckx and tommasini.
Yang Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Eishh. I went thru ORT in December to Madeira with my bike but was lucky to get it the other side. Hope yours appears for you. Another time I was sitting in one of those small jets on my way back to Moz and I watched them load up- horror- no bike bag ! I screamed off the plane and started to make a noise about where my bike was and I was never gonna see it again. The official on the ground spoke into a radio saying to whoever what was happening and I was delaying the plane. I heard whoever's response back over the radio "arrest him and get that plane onto the runway". needless to say I got back on the plane, tail between legs . Good ending tho'- my bike arrived in Beira 2 days later.

After countless phone calls, it does seem that once the bag was entered onto the system at ORT, that was the last time it was seen. Now it's pretty obvious what the contents are, so i'm sure some charming person decided to nationalise me from the bag and here's hoping he becomes another statistic shortly. Now we play games with the insurance company
