Its a difficult question really because there are so many facets of the sport, theres the retail side, the training academy side, the raceing side and of course the media side.

 

Personally, I think the older guys like the Beneke brothers, Alan Van Heerden, Willie Englebrecht have had a huge impact on the sport for years and have been involved in most areas of the game.

 

I think Mr Maclean is the "face" of cycling in the media today, is probably quite influential and certainly the most "spotlighted" person in the sport today - either thats good or bad, depending on your position.

Thanks Widgit, tend to Agree with you, Mr Mclean is without doubt the man that makes it marketable, he is very professional forward thinking.

 

I would say that the others built the wheels, he makes them turn.

 

The Beneke's are also excellent
