RollandBounce Posted June 10, 2011 Share I am looking to buy a soft tail mtb. Been riding a hard tail up to now. Saw a good special on the Volcan FS2 on buycycle. I am not able to get any reviews or comments about the FS2, or how good and efficient the linkage is etc? Anyone with advice? Love to hear from peeps who ride Volcans
mtbDobby Posted June 10, 2011 Share I had a volcan - fs3 that I sold with a number of upgrades, I regret selling the bike - I think the frame and geometry are awesome
RollandBounce Posted June 10, 2011 Share Any issues with the bike on the pivots and bearings? How efficient was the bike on climbs, handling etc?
koukie Posted June 10, 2011 Share The only thing holding you back will be yourself, if Speedy can win every race on it (FS1, frame the same as the FS2) there should be nothing wrong with it. Or its what I think. Edited June 10, 2011 by koukie
mtbDobby Posted June 10, 2011 Share the bike road like a dream - the only reason I got rid of it was for the epic and I went the 29er route
RollandBounce Posted June 10, 2011 Share Specialized epic/ (epic marathon 2010) a better frame? Also looked at the merida 96 - also nice.. Dont see a lot of pros on the volcans. Kevin Evans only rode for a year on a Volcan?
mtbDobby Posted June 10, 2011 Share volcan sponsor the mtn team so there are plenty riders riding the bike - cannot comment on specialised or merida
Sawdust Posted June 10, 2011 Share I wouldn't worry too much on what the pro's are riding. They get paid to ride a specific bike.
