I was out cycling thismorning with my American Classic 420's and one of my spokes must have come lose *exactly what I thought would happen after my dad wouldn't let me buy a spoke tightener last week*Dead

Anyway ! 1 of the spokes came lose and I heard a slight scratching the whole way, found out 20k later the 1 spoke was hanging off the hub and a bit of that nibble fell in *not sure if it snapped or just fell in whole...is a nibble 1 piece ???* fell back into the rim of my wheel*420's are deeeeep LOL* so, I called up cycle lab, they said R10 spoke + R50 for *wheel weighting* which I reckon would be Truing...so how much do spoke tighteners go for and should I just replace and equally tighten the spokes myself ?? rather than donate R50 ?Dead

Thanks ! also any suggestions about this sorta stuff would be appreciated !!

Thanks !Big%20smile

With your desription of the nibble (sic) and the "wheel weighting" I reckon rather take it to somebody who CAN do the job. Where are you situated, there are kazillions of Hubbers that will tell you who is the verrrry best wheelsmith in the world!!!!

By the way that word is nipple........ not nibble ...... but nibbling a nipple is ok as welll !!!!!!!!!...... teee heee!!!!!!!!!!

That my dear man is the the secret of everlasting wheel sweetness you must find. It could be a long journey or it may be a costly and long search. When and if you find your "own" wheelsmith or wheelbuilding guru you will know..... wheels will run true and without spokes breaking. There are many "posers" out there...... beware of them young man!!!!!!!!

Dan reel hy maar met JB om te gaan vir een van sy kursusse wat Wheelbuilding insluit. Dan kan hy homself en ander help vir die res van sy lewe.
