ebenvn Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Just got my Edge 800 yesterday - Itching to use it now!!!! Doesnt have any local maps on though, so : what software to use? Im not keen to pay R1299 for the Topo maps. Anyone here use the Birdseye software? Or what other options are there? Also, where can I search for maps that other people have ridden? Thx!

Thug Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I have never used those maps on the 800 but used it on my old 705. If you are a MTB'er have a look at http://openmtbmap.org/ Not too technical, you download the map and just replace the .IMG file on your garmin. There should be full instructions on what to do.
