  1. What about http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/ztr-650b-cresthope-pro-4-wheelset ? Thx!!!!
  2. Great - thanks man. Will look into getting a nice set of Hope/ZTRs....
  3. I've thought about that as well! How do you find th bigger wheels? Any clearance issues (with mud?)?
  4. Just saw this.... Might be a sign... http://singletrackworld.com/2016/07/first-look-canyon-2017/
  5. Yip - 26" (old school... ) I really like the Canyons Thanks - yeah, they do look great. Which model would you say is best for stage races? (in it to enjoy the event rather than hardcore race)
  6. Definitely not decided on anything - Was just searching around on the web for good bikes and read a couple of very good reviews on it... Any other ones you would advise me to consider?
  7. Thanks for the advice! Yeah - I was also thinking that the age & wheel size would make a differenc - how big was my worry. But happy to tackle it on the Epic and see... We moved abroad 2.5 years ago - and the weather here is crappy (and I haven't found nice MTB routes), so would probably end up buying it just for the race... Guess the biggest factor is actually just wanting something new. No comment (from her, not me).I think its like a "I dare you" reply...
  8. Hi everyone, Without going into details, I know the obvious answer is: "yes, obviously" - but none the less, here's the question: I have a 2010 Epic Comp Carbon as below (groupset and wheels upgraded to XTR) which is still in good condition. I'm planning to do the Jhb2C next year. I know the Epic is more a XC racer, and probably not the most comfortable option for it - so wondering if I go to something like a 2016 Camper Comp Carbon 29er, would it make a massive difference? Thanks for the opinions http://bikereviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/specialized-epic-comp-carbon-2010-mountain-bike.jpg
  9. Thanks for the replies guys. Been at physio now for 2 weeks, stopped running and focus a lot on my posture... Pain is much better, but still feel it at the end of the day. Considering using a standing desk at wok from time to time!
  10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumbar_hyperlordosis Has anyone else been diagnosed with this? I recently started having severe lower back and left hamstring pains. Thought it was because of poor flexibility so tried a lot of stretching. After not improving I went to a doctor who sent me for X-rays and confirmed that I have Lumbar hyperlordosis. This was pinching the nerves in my back causing the pain. I am currently at a physio who helps with exercises and also posture etc. but would love any other advice? He has prohibited me from running and I can only cycle very upright (no tuck or drops)... I started a new job at the start of the year which has me sitting 10 hours a day. My thinking is this combined with training on a TT bike may have caused it.
  11. I rate 3 Towers very high...
  12. Good topic. I was set on getting a Tacx - for the multiplayer, google etc. But reading this topic and http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2013/10/2013-trainer-recommendations.html# - I am considering the KICKR. BTW - I have an older Flow currently (t1680) but the head unit is faulty. Anyone know if I can buy something like this (http://www.futurumshop.nl/tacx-upgrade-i-flow-t1925.phtml) and then have the same functionality as a Bushido?
  13. Wonder how light they can do a reliable and safe build, capable of racing a tour?
  14. Have to agree with the volunteers - absolutely awesome! Thank you!
  15. Had a awesome day out for my first full IM. Had a nice relaxed swim and a comfortable bike, despite the wind. Wheels came of on the run (second lap) managing a 12:13... No complaints around organizing, but have to agree that the route is a bit dangerous and the goodie bag can be better...
  16. Yip, got the 10 year bag (not bad) - but thats it....
  17. I registered this morning and was actually surprised that there was no goody bag?
  18. Both 24 hole. I think they do not want to work with the rims - told me they have build them before and they broke. And they cant get spokes... Not really impressed, but I guess I'll ma just have to get someone else
  19. I have purchased a set of 27.5" carbon rims which I would like to build my XTR hubs - 24 holes (currently 26" wheels) onto. I took it to Spoke Works but they say they can't do the build. Anybody know of someone who will be willing to assist?
  20. +1 And whats gonna happen to the driver? It's a sad reality...
  21. Assos are really good, I also see the "entry" level Uno as the best buy… But at the price I prefer to limit them to long (3hrs +) rides, with Craft, Mavic and Specialized doing duty for shorter rides...

    Triathlon ......

I had the same idea, but there were loads of TT bikes at the 94.7...

    Triathlon ......

Good idea - thanks! Wish there was a couple of 70.3 distances to get some good rides in for IM... As far as I know it's basically Midlands Ultra and IM 70.3 Any road races where one can get some TT time in (ideally a "double like the 94.7...)
