Broken plastic ring on backwheel ( chain guard)

I've just heard that spoke protectors are in fashion this year in Paris. It is sure to spill over here very soon. I also believe Shimano has a range of them now, from SLX to XTR. The latter is apparently from transparent titanium.

I'm keeping mine on. For once I'm gonna lead the fashion.

Be sure to have reflectors on the spokes as well :P

Why do you guys want to remove the cassette? Just cut the plastic away with side cutters, tear the last section

Exactly what i did

So why would a chain slip off the cassette if it works under normal conditions or does it happen when the derailleur gets a knock and is bent? In that case I'm going to make one of those clear CD's fit. I think it'll look quite nice

It doesn't. It only happens when the RD's not adjusted properly.

The disk is there on the outside chance that it might happen and then the owner would try to sue. Much like those lip things on road bike forks.
