I'm really tempted to go for this deal.

 

Does anyone use the Drift X170 at the moment?

 

I know its not HD, but how does it compare to the GoPro?

 

The way I see it:

Pro's

• Nifty remote control, so you can switch it on on the fly (have you noticed how GoPro clips always start with a guy's face in the top right hand corner checking to see if its on)

• Screen on device to preview immediately
  

 

Cons

• AA batteries (what is the battery life while recording?)
  
• No indicator to tell whether its on or off on the remote control
  
• Not HD

Think about it this way. if there is no indicator on the remote to see if its recording, wont you still look at the thing (like a go pro) to see if its recording? Im pro go pro as you can see.

However. this is a great camera. The mounting options are less than the go pro. The resolution should not bother you for home videos.

With regard to the batteries. if you use normal aa batteries they will last you well beyond a single day ride. Just get rechargeable and if you really want you can get the Lithuim battery. We have two at work and we just got the lithuim batteries.

The remote works well and i think it actually makes a sound so you can hear when it starts.

The price is def good for any type of head cam. You dont get a fake product and you get a warranty which i think is great.
