My 2004 Marin is starting to get a bit long in the tooth - so been shopping around.

Started out in the 100mm travel range looking at Cube and Merida, but not sure that's a good fit for me for the kind of all around trail riding we do.

Had a look at BMC SpeedFox SF02 and also Stumpjumper FSR Comp - both look to be decent machines, slightly different with the SJ having a bit more travel. Both seem reasonably light and feel very nimble for all around machines, seem to climb fairly well from what I've read too. Hoping to get a proper full day trial of the BMC next weekend. Can't seem to find anyone with a Specialized that they'll loan me to try out for a decent ride. There's some good pricing around too now that 2012 models are around the corner

So I'm stuck .... anyone ridden one of these on a longer term basis and have good/bad feedback they can share?

I've been riding my Stumpy FSR Comp Elite for the past 6 months and absolutely love it. Very confident on rocky, technical downhills because of the extra travel. I recommend it highly.

Cheers guys. Read lot of good things on Stumpy, so went that way. Can't wait to get out on it now, sure I won't be disappointed one we hit the single track
