Chain woes

I finally found the fault. It wasn't my chain afterall. Seems like the freebody pins did not fully engage and thus, under high torque disengaged. A good clean and re-grease (of the freebody) sorted me out.

Thanks all for your advise.

is this a crankset with NEW chainrings?

I ask because at one stage I put a new cassette and chain on and for the first time ever I had horrendous chain skipping issues on the chainring...I put on a new ring and all was fine.

FYI I am running an SRAM double on a 9-speed setup with no issues at all so that should not be a problem. I have a mate running a full 9speed setup with a 10 speed chain and no issues (dont ask why)
