Soft Tail or Hard Tail???

I weigh 70kg and is 1.65m tall(small frame, shame). I try to do 1 race per month, the longer distance available. I am planning my first stage race which is the Lighthouse to Lighthouse. I am pretty new to the sport so i need some advice. Not planning any other stage races besides the Epic, lol Might do the Stormsriver Traverse next year.
