New Southern Africa distributor for Bryton GPS

Having rapidly become established as a main player in the competitive global GPS industry, Bryton, the Taiwanese sports, fitness and adventure GPS electronics brand, is now finding direction in the Southern African market under a new distribution agency, Ballistic Bike Trading, headed up by Jason Theunissen.

Theunissen has years of experience in the cycling and GPS industries having being Sales & Marketing Director of Garmin’s distribution company in Southern Africa before establishing and making a success of Ballistic Bike Trading, a cycling-specific distribution company. At its new home, Bryton joins the stable of Ghost-Bikes, Zero Flats, ESI Grips, Hirzl Gloves, Crazy Stuff kids accessories, Chamois Butt’r, Lemond indoor trainers, Bike Medicine lubricants and other quality cycling and fitness products.

The Bryton brand includes Rider cycle GPS and Cardio multi-sport GPS watch ranges. Powerful, smart, versatile, these devices navigate expanding landscapes of training and racing performance information. More than that, they are customisable for personal preference and come with a community of support and development, taking sport electronics into new territory.

Theunissen and his team have taken on this new acquisition with passion, enthusiasm and market credibility and promise “big plans and new ideas”.

“There is a large, yet still growing outdoor sports community in South Africa that’s hungry for reliable products that enhance and improve their experiences. With Bryton, they will be able to map, measure, record and revisit their experiences with ease and confidence and at a reasonable price,” said Theunissen.

Yvonne Chang responsible for the Southern Hemisphere regions at Bryton’s Head Office in Taiwan is excited: “We have found a partner that shares our vision and passion to make Bryton the No. 1 Sports GPS in South Africa. With our support and Jason’s commitment and background in this market we have a winning formula.”

Bryton devices range from as little as R999 to R3999 and are available from better bicycle shops and selected mass retailers.
