On the second Sunday in March every year, 35 000 cyclists line up to participate in the world’s largest timed cycling event, the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour.

 

Cycle Tour has grown from humble beginnings, attracting a few hundred participants in 1978, into the iconic international event it is today. Now enjoying its 35th year, Cycle Tour has become a permanent fixture on the calendars of professional and recreational cyclists worldwide.

 

There is a major focus on charity this year. Aligning itself with other major sporting events, the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust has made a limited number of 5,000 entries available to the charity bond sector.
