Guys

I have done endurance racing all my life yet I sometimes feel like a beginner. This past weekend I did the Deloitts Marathon and man was it tough.

Cramped up at 37km's like never before and lost 20 minutes. I was certain that I did take in enough fluids only to find that same afternoon that even after 4 beers i still didnt go to the loo....

I have decided to do the following:-

Go to the gym and weight myself before and after an hour cycling/running session. The difference in weight minus the amount of water that I took onboard (converted into weight).

The shortage is what I need to take in extra. I guess it is also important not to drink too much water as you can flush the electrolites from your system.

THe problem however with this simple experiement was that after 40minutes of hard cycling, my weigh loss was still 2kg's.

How the hell is this possible? I know I sweat a lot but surely I could not have sweated 2,5 litres (as I did take onboard 500ml water)??
