Finding out how fast your group will/should ride

i.e. if I'm getting left behind or not - can you look up the ave speed/ time for your seeding group from last years race somewhere?

And a related point: if you suspect you are going to be left behind, do you think its worth dropping back a group or 2 to increase enjoyment factor, or rather sticking with it & enjoying the faster wheel-suckerage victims?

Conditions and riders change. There is no average speed/ time for a group.

In my opinion, try to hang on, but if you find yourself on your own, relax and wait for the next group to catch you. You might need the rest in order to hook up.

look on the racetec website you can then view the times of the riders in the various groups, remember conditions were perfect last year and this year will be windy and a bit slower.

Re dropping back, start with your seeded group, if you get dropped you probably wont be dropped alone, just ride with whoever is with you or wait for the next group to catch you up
