Since this year Comrades allows for late entry runners to take the place of early entrants. It is called substitutes.

Well, I have decided to give this race one more go (after a 20 year lay-off). It will probably hurt but let's just do it. I have not entered.

If you know of someone who entered before end Nov 2011 but had decided not to run anymore, please contact me. I shall obviously compensate him/her for the entry fee. This has to happen in the next few days though.

Thanx

Why the hell would anyone want to do a race that far?

I did the Deloitts Marathon a few weeks back. I died 9 deaths during the race. I never had so much pain in my life... yet there were plenty of guys even worse off than me and finsihing 40 / 50 minutes after me. I was I think the only entry that are not also doing the Comrades.

If this is how I felt after 35km then how the hell will you feel after 85km?

And how on earth are those hundreds of guys behind me going to finish the Comrades?
