Drilling holes in BB to allow water out?

Remember how everyone was up on arms at Johan's recommendation of drilling holes in the BB to allow water out. and how everyone said it would weaken the bike.

 

Well looking at the Paris Roubaix bikes and all the holes drilled is way more strategic places for through frame cable routing. I think he may have not been that misguided.

 

I think putting a hole in the down & Top tube as well as headset tubes is more of an issue.

 

Just a thought...........

I'd agree with Johan here. I can't see a couple of small holes making a big difference to strength. My biggest concern would be to make sure the holes had good covers to keep dust out.
