Garmin Forerunner 310XT

I'm giving up with Polar, just cannot get CS200 to pick up speed or distance. Sent it in, took weeks. Worked for 2 weeks and now nothing again. Changed batteries, new magnet etc etc. Service is sloooow.

 

I'm looking at getting the Garmin Forerunner 310XT - am I correct that speed and distance will be measured using GPS and I won't need any sensor/pick-up on the bike? Am I making the right choice? I'm looking for heart rate, distance and ave speed.

yes, great device, make sure you buy a set with the HT belt. Wireless sync to PC (wireless dongle included).

You should pick up those for quite cheap. 910XT is out

I saw that gadget but it's R2k more and I'm not sure it is R2k better.
