Value of my road bike

Guys,

 

Am looking for thoughts on what the value of my bike is as would like to sell, and would like an honest opinion on what you think I could achieve. I have built it up from scratch so not sure. I think R15-17k would be a fair price...

Frame size is large, and bike is in very good condition, frame is a year old, components built up October 2011 components have done about 1000km.

 

Any assitance would be appreciated.

It depends on the age and condition of all the parts. If they are relatively new and in good condition I would reckon that R15k is the top bracket. Anything from R12k - R15k would be a fair price.

That is basically the same spec as a CR1 Pro except for the wheels which are Ksyrium Elites on the Pro.

 

The 2012 list price for that is R26 500 so let's say R25 000 after discount. At the end of last year I paid R19 000 for a 2011 model as they were clearing stock which I considered a steal.

 

So you need to apply the '2nd hand factor' and compensate for the wheels. Considering this I wouldn't go for much more than R15 000 if I were you and then adjust as per the responses you get.

Thanks guys, I think R15k is a fair price, and you have confirmed my thoughts. Now to make the hard decision to sell. Not sure the Merida 907 reacto is worth it.
