Screw in 2 hooks (bigger than the coffee mug hooks) into your garage rafter. Attach rope or old tubes to these hooks and suspend your bike by the handle bar and under the seat.

 

Cost- nothing compared to a parktool stand

I bought mine from CRC, clamps onto seat post. Nice thing is it extends tall so i can work comfortably without having to crouch.

Mainly work outside on the paved area where i use an old groundsheet with tools spread out for easy access.
