Looks like I'm putting the old stem and crown back on tonight.

 

Need to feel safe when I'm on them steep slopes!

 

There is no point in having your bars low when doing gravity riding. There is a point where you can feel if it is too high and you don't have the same control. You know when you are in the sweet spot.

Ok so I've just spent a good few hours in the garage tinkering, and here's what i discovered.

 

The truvativ setup in only about 15mm higher. The drop crown just made it look like more.

 

The reason it felt so odd is because I'd been riding my jump bike all weekend (narrower bars, higher rise, higher stack). I'm not good at switching between bikes randomly.

 

So... The Hope stays on!
