Hi

I am trying to do the following:

I've got a Suunto T6c and would like to use it with the Suunto Training manager (Suunto coach).

I basically want to be able to see my heart rate, epo, time and possibly speed on my computer screen whilst on my indoor trainer.

I have to dual link heart rate monitor and thinking that there has to be a way to accomplish this. At the least be able to see my heart rate.

I have the usual clip to usb that I use to connect my suunto device to my laptop when downloading training sessions, but I don't think that I can get the info I want this way.

There must be a piece of usb hardware I can get that can read data from the heart rate belt (the analog data) which is compatible with gym equipment.

I might be old school but I am annoyed being forced by Suunto to use MovesCount as opposed to Training Manager that's been discontinued. That way they become the owners of users data. Maybe there is more value to this that I am not seeing. (although that's a topic on it's own)

Has anyone done this before.

Please help.

Thanks

It is possible with Suunto Monitor software, PC Pod/Movestick and HRM. Not sure if the software is it's still downloadable or discontinued. Also if i remember correctly that the drivers for the usb stick was a bit difficult.

If you seriously into it there are a couple of other options software wise. Firstbeat Athlete is highly advanced although it is not free software.

Hi

Thanks for the reply

Suunto has discontinued all their software for standalone desktop installations. Everything is now done through the Movescount web interface which is in my opinion another glorified social network.

Do you know if first beat athelete will be able to read from my HRM?

Regards

I was unable to download this when I tried yesterday so I assume it's no longer available to the public which I think is a pity.

I've downloaded the First Beat Athlete software yesterday - It looks awesome, but this also required the PC pod - I was hoping it might work with the PC link cable that comes with the T6d watch which I have - But obviously this is only used to access the files stored on the watch.

Thanks for the reply.

Think you might have things a little mixed up...

The PC Pod/Movestick (think its the same thing) can be used as a usb receiver for the HRM belt. So if you are on your indoor trainer you aren't using your watch. Info comes strait from your belt to your PC via the usb.

Do you have the USB Movestick for the MovesCount?

Not sure if there is a way to display info from watch to PC in realtime.

I have a magafter that takes the signal from my belt to a concept rowing machine. Terminates in a mini 3.5 jack. Will see if I can get that signal onto my pc in any way....

@ wagdog1 - I have the Suunto t3d with the HR monitor and the Move stick.

A while back I managed to find the desktop software and was able to get my HR to connect to the Suunto Desktop software and gave me some good details.

Also take a look under the movecount webs site for apps that might work for you ... www.movescount.com/otherapps

Hope it helps.

I would be interested to find out if that works. If it does - then to know where to get one of those magafters from :)

Do you want to use it for the concept 2 machines? If so, it works fantastically well. Another really valauble magafter for the machines is a smart card that records all your sessions and allows you to row against a previous excercise. It logs heartrate, spm, distance, time and pace. It can plug into any concept 2 machine (at any gym). Lemme just think a bit about where I got mine. i will PM details when I remember .... somewhere near Kya Sands
