RTFM

Much easier to post moronic questions on the hub than RTFM. What amazes me is that we are capable of reading a computer screen with the solution but not the manual.

I'm sorry that you gents found my post "moronic".

Take a moment to considder that I did indeed RTFM that came with the device, and I'm not sure if either of you, or anyone else on the forum is using one, but those who do, might be able to confirm that the

manual provided with the device is not of much use to those who are not familiar with the device, ie "first timers".

Much to your surprize, I even went as far as downloading the online pdf user manual from Bryton, and after following the steps on that I still did not have joy in getting the machine to work.

Nowhere in the literature does it state if it uses gps signal to track speed and distance, or via the sensor.

I apologize for not knowing. Heaven forbit I ask on a open forum!

In the meantime with the info from usefull replies, and those on other forums, with the downloaded manual

I have been able to set it up and get it working ok for now.

Will only really know after my next cycle.

To those who posted helpful replies, thank you. It did indeed help.

I bought one and I must say was NOT as user friendly as my garmin and user manual isnt great at all. Don't worry Rvan, sometimes grumpy hubbers that get abused by their wives or just don't get any use this forum as a place to give out some of the abuse they get.... :whistling:

I got a Bryton 35 a couple months ago, after my Polar got stolen. I use the sensor that came with the device as speed, to save on battery life of the unit, and I bought another cadence sensor with my CycleOps PowerCal. Everything worked first time, with no issues.

The main issue I have had is me not charging the device, and only noticing it once I start my ride, but other than that I am also happy as a pig in you know what. :)

I am hoping you gents can help me. I still cannot get my cadence reading to display as i am riding. I managed to setup the sensor under the speedcadence sensor settings (The only setting that picked up the ID of the sensor).

When i start recording, the speed, hr, time, etc works well but the cadence just does not show any reading...

When i pass the pedal over the sensor i do hear a kinda click noise. I think this is normal. And btw, the sensor is set to cadence underneath the battery.

What else could it be?

Any help would be appreciated.

From my extensive RTFM'ing i saw a bit where it was suggested the sensor and magnet be no more than 3mm apart...

Hope this helps

On my 1st ride using it at the lynford classic on sunday, mine worked perfectly

coenie hello,

I've been thinking about buying the powercal with the cadence sensor for my Bryton Rider 35. I spoke with the support of Bryton and I do not know if it was confirmed compatible with the cadence sensor.

From what I read, you have the sensor to work with 35. No problems? Correct reading?

thank you

Hi. Sorry, only saw this now.

Yes the Powercal works perfectly with my Bryton. I love the fact that I can track my 'power' without having to spend major bucks on it.

Thank you, I will then venture into buying.

My doubt was the cadence sensor.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I had another thread about the poor software. I hope to get time this weekend to test the new Beta site but yeah, I could not get those trips working either.
