What would you ask a doper?

Some things he says about doping does not make medical sense at all (acc to me).

1. There is no way that popping a testosterone pill (containing almost no test in medical terms) would help you recover quicker over night. I reckon this is bull***t. Most riders must be f.... stupid then and believe everything and take everything tossed to them.

2. Handking out EPO during a race to a fellow rider because you have some left. I mean, please!! Surely this drug must build up to decent blood levels and only show real effect in couple of weeks. Same as the arguement for testosterone

really.?!,!,! i did not know that. But i still find it suspect. clenbuterol is not a very strong anabolic...then i would expect to see traces of cheaper and more androgenic anabolics in fatenned up anamals

Clenbuterol when used during intense training phases (pre tours) while on a strict diet helps with not going catabolic (loose muscle). Clenbuterol actually has a negative effect on endurence with allot of people. Only reason they use it is to stay anabolic during times when they put their body under huge stress

This is really interesting - could you please give us some more details?

What sports people who have tested positive? South Africans? And what time frame?

So 54 out of 60 sports people who tested positive were NOT cyclists? Any chance you could let us have an indication of the sports they take part in, or better yet, post the report. :)

Only have hard copy ... but it might be available on the SAIDS website ???

All South Africans -- from rugby (rugby, athletics (including Comrades winner), cricket, lots of powerlifting and bodybuilding, football, wrestling, hockey, wheelchair basketball and golf (both pro golfers not named because of agreement with PGA and SAIDS) ) ... so, it sems there are cheats in every sport, not just cycling.

Minors were from rugby (4) and athletics (2).

Range of substances is from steroids (including one using vet steroids) masking agents, cannabis, stimulants.

There were 2 348 urine tests from April 2011 to March 2012 with 59 blood and 68 EPO. Most tested sports were (in order) rugby, athletics, football, cycling, cricket and swimming (if you combine cycling and MTB cycling would be third most tested)

Sancions ranged from warnings, to to suspensions from 3 months to 2 years with a lot of hearings to take place this month.

1) As far as I know, testosterone is sued to help recovery .. if you are referring to Hamilton taking it for the first time, he took it a couple of days before he competed again so it helped his recovery before the next event -- not overnight (but would it not help overnight ?)

2) EPO was "sanctioned" by team management and in some cases supplied by the teams so why not hand some over to a teammate? I think it adjusts your hematocrit levels very quickly and in the early years of Hamilton's doping that was the key figure that indicated performance (UCI was only testing to make sure hematocrit was 50 or lower, so they aimed to race at 48 or 49 to be at their best without being caught for doping). In later years Ferrari had riders microdosing EPO to adjust hematocrit on almost a daily basis -- same with testosterone gel patches -- microdosing so they were under the testing levels..

Surely testosterone helpes recovery but def not immediately. Tyler was referring to andriol which is a gel capsule containing very little testosterone. After passing through the liver a good % of that is gone before the body starts absorbing it. You would have to pop allot of these little red pills (as he puts it) over a period of time before you start getting a benefit.

I also do not see how giving a fellow rider some of your EPO for 1 evening can have a effect the next day. Especially if that rider has not taken any for the time being. It does take a while to build up your redblood cells
