According to the Racetec, 19,274 people completed the 94.7. This is well short of the 27,000 competitors claimed by the organisers. Why is this?

I presume a percentage of riders didn't have Racetec chips, whilst others did not finish the race. But surely not 8,000 odd? That's almost 30% of the total number of entrants.

I heard that there was a large number (+-5000) that didn't finish.

But that is heresay...

I must have passed thousands of road bike riders on my MTB ,because i was able to train a lot on a mtb .I cannot see how you can get a lot of safe training done in Gauteng on a road bike .Certainly not in Pretoria .On a mtb there is ample places to ride safely
