Inanda Dam has a great new trail center that has been set up by the Durban Green Corridor. While the trails have been in place for some time, the center is now up and running with toilets, showers, safe parking and experienced local guides who ensure safety and a great trail experience.

During December and January, we are offering the following rides:

Saturday morning- easy 5km and 12km guided rides.

Sunday morning- advanced 27km ride.

Guides are free of charge and entry to the site is only R20. A chaperone service is available from Old North Coast Rd.

Booking is advised, so check out our eNanda Adventures page on the Durban Green Corridor website for more.

Also check out this video from Bike Life about the this and the other trail center at iSithumba.

Saw the insert in Supercycling (yes they do get airtime occasionally.....) and the trails look awesome. How safe is it to ride around the dam unguided? I noticed that the guys from Bike Life used a boat to get to the trails on the other side. Assuming that the trail centre is near the entrance to the Msinsi resort, Is it possible to access the trails from the picnic area?

OK did some searching on Google Earth and you are on the other side of the dam. No where near the picnic area hence the reason why Bike Life used a boat to access the trails.....

It's great idea and area with generally good people BUT guys, not something to do on your own or even in a small group. I understand that a guy on a motorbike on his own was shot dead a few days ago a bit east of this area when his bike broke down.

Hi guys.

I have been riding in the valley for more than 6 years now. We have run several races on our trails including SA Champs in 2011 and the last two KIA Kzn Exp, as well as Dusi Mfula day 2. My name is Devlin Fogg, one of the two guys from Bike Life and this is my project. There have been issues with security in the valley but like all places, you need to know where you can and cant go. No-one goes looking for an ice cream on a hot day in West Street any more do they?

Our center is in a great area and we employ more than 30 trail builders, bike guides and other staff, as well as putting their kids on bikes to develop them, so MTB in the area brings in money and makes a difference in their lives.

I am back from leave on the 14th, so if you keen, I am happy to show folks around. Oh and you dont need a boat. Its an 35 minute drive from Berea straight to the center.

Look forward to welcoming you down for a ride. Give us a shout if you keen to go for a spin. Cheers. Devlin
