Does anybody ride a Adamo saddle? I have started riding my road bike again after more than a year on my mountain bike. I ride a Spez Phenom on my mtb and Fizik Arione on my road bike. Problem is my road bike saddle is killing me and my Phenom feels like a couch. It has been suggested I try a Adamo saddle.

Any other suggestions?

I ride Adamo's both on my road and mountain bikes. They took a while to get used to. Your weight is taken on your sit bones rather than on your soft tissue, so initially my sit bones felt like they were bruised for a while.

Their website says up to about & 7 rides. I found it took about 3 months of riding 3 times a week for the tenderness to disappear completely. But then I was doing some fairly long rides training for IM at the time. Apparently its the muscle covering the bones that feels bruised and tender rather than the bones themselves.

However, I recommend them and would now not ride any other saddle. I have the Adamo "Road" (I had the "Race" first but found it too hard) on my road bike and the Adamo "Peak" on my mtb. The Peak has slightly more cushioning.

I had the same set ups as davidlangebaan and the same feedback, took a while to get used to but totally happy with both.

I Have just bought a SPZ Toupe I have done the race at Stonehaven and Carousel this weekend. On the Stonehaven race the saddle killed me. On Friday I used the saddle again and it was much better. I will see how it goes on the Sun City race will do the 115Km for the first time this season.

Why not try the Phenom on your road bike?

I sit a lot more upright on my mountain bike than on my road bike as I ride a lot in the drops. It just feels like I sit on a very different part of my behind on the road bike than on the Phenom.

The Phenom is designed so that you sit much more on your sit bones than on other saddles and I am very used to this by now. I have heard that the Adamo is designed to do the same.
